Key milestone in the realisation of Health Campus Boxmeer
On 21 February, councillor Maarten Jilisen of the Municipality of Land van Cuijk and Gerard van Liempt, CEO of property developer Necron Group, took a major step towards the realisation of a health campus in Boxmeer.
The municipality and Necron Group signed the purchase agreement for the transfer of the land on which the health campus will be developed in the coming years.
Necron also announced that hotel chain Marriott International will operate two distinct hotel brands on the campus.
The shared ambition is to create a diverse ecosystem on the campus, comprising healthcare institutions, (technology) companies, organisations, and knowledge institutions specialising in innovative healthcare. The campus will form a sustainable and healthy environment, not only for work but also offering accommodation, dining options, meeting spaces, health and fitness facilities, and more. Additionally, the campus will boost local employment and contribute to the economic vitality of the region.

Albert Jan Huisman, Chief Commercial Officer van Necron Group, vertelt over de ambities van de campus. “Health Innovation Campus Boxmeer biedt zorginstellingen, medtech bedrijven, kennisinstellingen en toonaangevende voedingsbedrijven, actief op het gebied innovatieve gezondheidszorg, de mogelijkheid om te groeien in een ecosysteem waarin innovatie, talent en samenwerking centraal staan.” Flexibel aanpasbare en gedeelde faciliteiten zoals labruimtes, kantoren en onderzoeksfaciliteiten bevorderen technologische vooruitgang op de campus. “Technologie en innovatie zijn essentieel om de grootste uitdagingen van de gezondheidszorg, zoals stijgende zorgkosten en vergrijzing, het hoofd te bieden,” legt hij uit.

De keuze van Necron Group om zich aan te sluiten bij Health Valley vloeit voort uit de gedeelde missie. “Health Innovation Campus Boxmeer en Health Valley delen dezelfde ambitie om technologische vooruitgang in de zorg te stimuleren en te faciliteren,” zegt Huisman. “Health Valley biedt een sterk en divers netwerk van zorginstellingen en bedrijven, wat ons helpt om waardevolle partners aan te trekken die een bijdrage kunnen leveren aan het innovatieve ecosysteem van de campus. Niet in de laatste plaats door de manier waarop open en transparant kennis gedeeld wordt binnen het netwerk.” Andersom biedt de campus ook voor Health Valley-partners straks mogelijkheden om deel uit te maken van een levendige community. “We komen graag in contact met de partners van Health Valley. Ook ideeën en suggesties zijn welkom,” concludeert Huisman.
De in Zwitserland gevestigde vastgoedmaatschappij heeft innovatieve oplossingen en duurzame groei hoog in de prioriteit. Necron ziet de campus daarom als de perfecte plek om hun missie te verwezenlijken: projecten creëren die werk en levens verbeteren en zakelijk succes bevorderen. De zorgsector toekomstbestendig maken, sluit daar naadloos op aan.

In juni heeft de gemeenteraad van Land van Cuijk een nieuw beeldkwaliteitsplan voor de campus vastgesteld, waarmee de weg vrij is voor verdere ontwikkeling. “We zijn inmiddels in gesprek met diverse partijen die geïnteresseerd zijn in een vestiging op de campus, maar er is nog volop ruimte,” vertelt Huisman. “We staan open voor nieuwe samenwerkingen en kijken ernaar uit om bedrijven binnen het Health Valley-netwerk te verwelkomen die actief willen bijdragen aan zorginnovatie.”
